OHLC Plus

Modified on Sat, 25 Jul at 9:19 AM

The OHLC Plus indicator displays key price and volume profile levels for several trading periods directly on the chart. It helps compare the current market price with important reference levels from the current or previous day, week, month, or contract.

Use this indicator when you want to analyze how price behaves relative to historical Open, High, Low, Close, POC, VWAP, Value Area, and Equilibrium levels. OHLC Plus uses ATAS profile data for the selected period; the number of historical days loaded on the chart does not redefine the meaning of a period such as Previous Day.

How to add the indicator

  1. Open a chart.
  2. Add the OHLC Plus indicator from the indicators list.
  3. Open the indicator settings.
  4. Enable the periods and levels you want to see on the chart.

After the required levels are enabled, ATAS requests the profile data for the selected periods and draws the available levels on the chart.

How periods are calculated

OHLC Plus supports the following period groups:

  • Current Day
  • Previous Day
  • Current Week
  • Previous Week
  • Current Month
  • Previous Month
  • Contract

Each group is calculated from the corresponding ATAS profile period. For example, Previous Day means the previous day profile for the selected instrument, not the first or previous day currently visible in the loaded chart history.

If you load or scroll to older historical days on the chart, OHLC Plus does not use that visible range as a custom anchor for the Previous Day, Previous Week, or Previous Month groups. The indicator still uses its predefined profile periods.

Available levels

Each period group contains the same set of available levels:

  • Open — opening price of the selected period.
  • High — highest traded price of the selected period.
  • Low — lowest traded price of the selected period.
  • Close — closing price of the selected period.
  • Equilibrium — midpoint between High and Low.
  • POC — Point of Control, the price with the highest traded volume.
  • VWAP — Volume Weighted Average Price.
  • VAH — Value Area High.
  • VAL — Value Area Low.

Level settings

Each level can be configured independently.

SettingWhat it doesDefault
EnabledShows or hides the selected level.Off for most levels. Current Day Open and Previous Day POC are enabled by default.

Default configuration

By default, the indicator displays:

  • Current Day Open
  • Previous Day POC

All other levels are available in the indicator settings and can be enabled individually.

Visibility hotkey

The indicator includes the Toggle Levels Visibility Hotkey setting.

By default, the assigned hotkey is Q. Pressing this key hides or shows all OHLC Plus levels without changing the indicator configuration.

Notes

  • If profile-based levels such as POC, VWAP, VAH, or VAL are not displayed, make sure enough profile data is available for the selected instrument and period.
  • If Previous Day values do not match the historical days currently visible on the chart, check whether you are expecting chart-range-based calculation. OHLC Plus uses predefined profile periods, not the visible chart range.
  • Enable only the levels that are important for your workflow to keep the chart readable.
