Big Trades

Modified on Mon, 09 Oct 2023 at 01:32 PM

The Big Trades indicator displays large market buys and sells (which are visible in Smart Tape) on the chart single, the so-called aggressive trades that are executed in large volume at once. You can choose what volume you want to see and adjust it by bids and asks in the indicator settings.

This is how the indicator looks on the chart:

*Note! When installed, the indicator has default settings and these settings are not suitable for all instruments and time frames, so the indicator needs to be configured.

To add and set up the following indicator, open the Indicators settings window.

Calculation

Calculation Mode - there are two display options available:

  • Cumulative Trades - the option groups the received ticks (a large number of individual prints) in such a way that the trader sees the actual market orders in their full volume.

  • Separate Trades - the display of individual non-aggregated prints.

Auto Filter — function for calculating filters automatically (recommended for beginners). If this function is enabled, Maximum Volume and Minimum Volume parameters will not work (they are detected automatically).

The auto filter in the Big Trades indicator changes dynamically, but only at the moment of the first opening of the chart, it does not change online. The auto-filter may depend on the time frame. For the last 7 days, all big trades are taken on the chart. If less than 7 days are loaded on the chart, then we take big trades for the number of days that are loaded.

Further, all big trades are sorted in descending order by volume. How many big trades should be displayed is calculated as follows: number of days * 10.

Further, this number of markers is displayed on the chart.

The maximum number of days that the indicator can calculate is a week. Those. if there are 100 days on the chart, the indicator will count only the last week.

The Auto Filter in the Big Trades indicator works only in the Cumulative trades mode.

Maximum Volume and Minimum Volume — parameters that determine filtration of trades value. They work only if the Auto Filter option is enabled.
