Following Manager

Modified on Sun, 7 Jun at 2:24 PM

The Following Manager module is used to copy orders or positions from a Provider account to one or more Follower accounts. In other words, you select the account from which orders or positions will be copied and choose the accounts that will receive those actions. All accounts must be connected within the ATAS platform.

You can open the module from the main platform window by selecting Home → Following Manager.

To get started, create a copy group using one of the available methods:

The copy group configuration window consists of three sections:

  1. Provider — select the account (4) from which orders or positions will be copied.
  2. Followers — select the accounts (8) that will receive copied orders or positions.
  3. Settings — configure the copying mode and additional options such as notifications and manual confirmation.

Copying Modes

There are two copying modes (5):

  • Positions — only positions are copied. For example, if you place a limit order, it will not appear on follower accounts. Once the order is executed and opens a position, the same position will be opened on follower accounts using market orders.
  • Orders — all orders and actions related to them are copied. For example, if you place a limit order on the Provider account and later modify its price, the same actions will be replicated on follower accounts. Any manual actions performed directly on follower accounts are ignored, and copying continues to follow the Provider account.

Additional Settings

6. Notifications — enables or disables pop-up notifications about copied orders and positions.

7. Manual Confirmation — enables or disables manual approval of copied orders or positions in the corresponding tab.

9. Ratio — defines the volume multiplier used for follower accounts. For example, if the ratio is set to 2 and the Provider account buys 1 contract, each follower account will buy 2 contracts.

10. Reverse — reverses the direction of copied trades. For example, a buy order on the Provider account becomes a sell order on follower accounts, and vice versa.

11. Actions — remove a follower account by clicking the trash bin icon or add a new follower account by clicking the + button.

After creating a copy group, you can start or stop copying at any time using the corresponding control button.

Examples of Following Manager Behavior

Positions Mode

  1. The Provider places a pending order. The order is not copied to follower accounts. This is expected behavior.
  2. The Provider places a pending order, which is not copied. When the order is executed and opens a position, the follower accounts synchronize and open the same position. This is expected behavior.
Entry prices may differ because follower positions are opened using market orders and may be affected by slippage. If the system receives an error from the connector while opening a follower position, synchronization will not occur.

Orders Mode

  1. If the Provider account has a position of 1 contract and the follower account has no position, enabling Orders mode will not synchronize positions because only orders are copied.
  2. The Provider places an order close to the market price and then modifies it. Since modification is performed by canceling the old order and placing a new one, the follower's original order may be executed before the replacement arrives. As a result, the follower account may enter a position while the Provider account does not. This is normal behavior in Orders mode.
